Todd Tilford

Todd Tilford (born May 15, 1963 in Anadarko, Oklahoma) is the CCO of Draftfcb Chicago, part of the Interpublic Group of Companies, a role he assumed in August 2011.
Tilford began his career in advertising in 1986 at Valentine Radford Advertising in Missouri after graduating from Kansas University.
In 1992 he and his wife Tammy moved to Dallas, TX after living in Honolulu, HI for a year. While in Dallas he was a creative director for The Richards Group. In 1997, Tilford set up a division known as R & D at The Richards Group and then later founded and ran his own agency, Pyro Dallas. Pyro helped re-launch the Hummer brand, turning it into the pop culture icon it is today.
While at Pyro, Tilford also created the famous “Blank Canvas” campaign for Converse/Chuck Taylors.
After nearly a decade with Pyro, Tilford went on to be co-founder of Tilford:Norman in Dallas with designer John Norman, who has left his mark on brands like Nike and United Colors of Benetton.
Tilford also ran general, digital and design departments at BBDO, Crispin Porter + Bogusky and Core, a St. Louis-based agency he helped run with his younger brothers Keith and Eric.
Prior to joining Draftfcb, Todd was the executive creative director at Grey, New York. In 2010 Fast Company deemed Grey the “most innovative company in advertising.”
His work has won nearly every major creative award in the industry including, but not limited to One Show Awards, Cannes Lions and Effies.
In 2012, Tilford served as a judge on the Design Lions Jury for the Cannes Lions Festival. He is a member of the 4A’s, American Advertising Federation, and the Chicago Advertising Federation.
Personal life
Todd Tilford was born in Anadarko, Oklahoma in 1963 and spent his childhood in Lawrence, Kansas. The eldest of three boys, his younger brother Keith and Eric are also in the advertising industry and are currently co-chief creative officers for MySpace. All three brothers were featured in a book by Tobias Wolff (Esquire) titled “Brothers.”
