Greteman Group is currently developing large aviation-history displays for the new Wichita Mid-Continent Airport terminal, scheduled to open in 2015. Its three principals were Bill Gardner, Sonia Greteman and Susan Mikulecky. The agency officially changed to Greteman Group in 1994 after Mikulecky left in 1992 and Gardner two years later. Other work The agency also supports such non-aviation clients as Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd., the Kansas State Fair and Kansas Chamber. Key projects for the City of Wichita have included creating its logo and environmental graphics for its $18 million renovation of The Keeper of the Plains plaza and river corridor. Aviation niche The firm is a founding member of the Wichita Aero Club. Agency president and creative director Sonia Greteman serves on its board and chairs its communication committee. Greteman Group created "Reclaim the Name," a campaign that encourages Wichitans to build upon its Air Capital heritage. In 2002, Greteman Group created the "Ditch the Drive," campaign to support Fair Fare$, a 16-county initiative to attract and to keep low-fare commercial airlines in Wichita. AirTran Airways entered the market in May 2002, Frontier JetExpress followed in September 2002, and Allegiant Air in February 2003. Wichita’s airfares, then some of the highest in the country, directly benefited from this competition. This campaign led to the legacy carriers slashing their fees, resulting in passenger travel savings and an economic impact to south-central Kansas estimated to be as much as $1 billion. AirTran continues to serve Mid-Continent Airport as part of revenue guarantees received through the Kansas Affordable Airfares Program.
