BKV Advertising was established in 1981, BKV is an independent direct and digital marketing agency with offices in Atlanta, Georgia and Overland Park, Kansas. BKV is associated with sister company Response Mine Interactive and is a primary sponsor of 60 Second Marketer, an online resource for marketing tools, tips and techniques.
Company Origins
BKV's Kansas City division was founded under the name Marketing Resources in 1981 by Frank Weyforth. BKV's Atlanta division was founded in 1981 by several former McCann-Erickson executives, including current executive team members Maribett Varner and Brent Kuhn.
Today, the Kansas City office serves primarily business-to-business clients using a combination of traditional and digital media.
With roots in DRTV, the Atlanta office provides services over a range of media, including broadcast, print, digital, interactive and direct mail.
1994: BKV launches DRTV campaign for Dirt Devil featuring the iconic Golden Retriever puppies.
1996: Marketing Resources creates website for Apple Computer.
1998: Marketing Resources changes name to Marketing.comm.
2001: BKV launches Response Mine Interactive (RMI), an agency that specializes in digital marketing. Today, RMI has over $40M in capitalized billings.
2001: Marketing.comm launches the initial version of Conduit, a proprietary online promotional system, for Caterpillar, Freightliner and John Deere Construction.
2002: Marketing.comm changes name to Weyforth-Haas Marketing.
2007: BKV in Atlanta merged with Weyforth-Haas Marketing in Kansas City.
2007: Kansas City BKV office recognized as a "Top 10 Small Business" by the Kansas City Chamber of Commerce 21st Annual Small Business Celebration Awards.
2010: Equifax Facebook page designed by BKV receives a DMA International Echo Award, "Echo Gold, Silver or Bronze."
2010: Sokolove Law Mesothelioma Research Center website designed by BKV is recognized by the international Webby Awards with "Official Honoree Distinction" and receives "Best of Show" in the Atlanta Direct Marketing Association's South Star Awards.
2011: Interactive work encompasses nearly half of the agency's annual billings.
