Umayal Eswaran

Umayal Eswaran is the Chairperson of Vijayaratnam Foundation, a charitable organization and the Malaysian arm of the RYTHM Foundation, the corporate social responsibility arm of the QI Group which was founded by her husband, Vijay Eswaran. She is a trained Indian classical dancer who has performed professionally in Malaysia, Hong Kong and Sri Lanka.
Career
Umayal works with the CSR initiatives of the QI Group through its two corporate foundations in Malaysia and Hong Kong. As the Chairperson of Vijayaratnam Foundation, she oversees the day-to-day activities of the foundation and is part of its executive committee. She also serves as the spokesperson the foundation. Under the aegis of the foundation, she helped to establish Taarana, a school for children with special needs. Taarana is the first of its kind in Malaysia. Umayal resumed professional dancing after a 15 year hiatus for a fundraiser performance benefiting Taarana.<ref name="SS"/>
Personal life
She is married to Vijay Eswaran, a Malaysian businessman.<ref name="VF"/>
