Georgina Lara Booth (born London, 17 October 1994) is an English actress, humanitarian and philanthropist. She is also the founder, president and chair of the board of 4U&U Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that organizes events related to the entertainment industry (e.g. concerts, fashion shows, benefit balls, art exhibitions, etc.) in order to raise money for children from underprivileged backgrounds, handicapped orphans and child soldiers, and to foster community involvement and social responsibility in young people. As of 2012, Booth is the youngest Ambassador of Peace of The Netherlands as part of the national Ministry of Peace with her own Peace Embassy. Biography Booth took a liking to the arts at an early age when she began her career as a professional actress. As a child, she performed in several plays as the main part. She also performed as an actress in commercials, films (including a Stephen King Dollar Baby) and most recently portrayed the character Emma in a European TV-pilot series "Le Camping". Besides her acting work, Booth is known for her humanitarian and volunteer work. From a very young age, Booth has been an advocate for the rights of others, particularly the rights of children and young adults. When Booth was 8 years old, she performed as an actress with the main part in a play with famous Dutch actors in the Netherlands, including Victoria Koblenko, to raise awareness for children's rights around the world. In 2006, Booth organized a large concert in order to raise money for the young victims and orphans of the 2004 tsunami disaster when she was just only 10 years old. Several playgrounds and sports fields were built for schools with the funds raised by Georgina through her benefit concert. She was also appointed as the first 'Humanitarian Youth Ambassador', at the age of 12, of one of the largest municipalities in the Netherlands for which she was nationally and regionally recognized as she received several awards for her work. In 2011, Booth founded her own foundation at the age of 16 of which she is the president, treasurer and founding board member. Her foundation, 4U&U Foundation, organizes benefit events (such as concerts, fashion shows, sports events, etc.) in order to raise money for child soldiers and children from underprivileged backgrounds around the world. Philanthropy Besides serving her foundation as president and treasurer, Booth was appointed as the youngest 'Ambassador of Peace' of the State Department of Peace in the Netherlands in 2012. She is also the first person to have ever founded an 'Embassy of Peace' in the university city of Leiden in the Netherlands. Her embassy will be the main point of all world peace and security related activities during 'Peace Week' and the 'National Day of Peace' (a day known as 'World Peace Day' declared by the United Nations). Booth will organize several activities, as an 'Ambassador of Peace', ranging from a Masquerade Peace Ball and a children's musical written by herself to a high profile debate about peace related topics - particularly about conflicts surrounding raw materials in countries such as Congo, Colombia and Sudan - with politicians, such as a former Dutch minister of defense Joris Voorhoeve, experts and students. Personal life Booth began her law studies at university at the very young age of 15. Due to the fact that Booth entered law school at such a young age, the school inspection of a Dutch municipality requested Booth to visually encourage school children to work hard at school as she completed her education at such a young age. Booth is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Laws degree at law school. Booth lives in The Netherlands.
