Raman Turavinau

Raman Turavinau (; born 28 March 2006) is a Belarusian taekwondo practitioner. Competing in the men's 80 kg division, Turavinau won the gold medal at the 2026 European Taekwondo Championships. He won the bronze medal in the 80 kg event at the 2025 World U21 Taekwondo Championships while competing as an Individual Neutral Athlete.

Career

Turavinau competed internationally from the cadet age categories onward. In 2019, he competed in the 53 kg event at the World Cadet Taekwondo Championships held in Tashkent. The same year, he reached the quarter-finals at the European Cadet Championships in Marina d'Or, Spain, where he lost to Turkey's Berkay Erer and finished outside the medals.

In 2024, he competed at senior level in the 80 kg event at the World Taekwondo Grand Slam Qualification Challenge held in Wuxi, China. He was eliminated in the first round after losing to Timur Gatiyatullin.

In 2025, Turavinau won the gold medal in the 80 kg event at the European edition of the WT President's Cup in Sofia. The same year, he competed in the men's 80 kg event at the 2025 World Taekwondo Championships in Wuxi, China. After defeating Canada's Maxime Potvin and Cyprus's Evangelos Charalambous by 2–0 scores, he lost to the United States' Carl Nickolas in the round of 16 and was eliminated from the tournament.

In December 2025, he won the bronze medal in the 80 kg event at the 2025 World U21 Taekwondo Championships held in Nairobi, Kenya. During the tournament, he defeated Rafael Pappa and South Korea's Park Jae-won to reach the semi-finals, where he lost to Iran's Amirreza Gholami and finished third.

In 2026, Turavinau won the bronze medal in the 80 kg event at the Fujairah Open and the silver medal in the same weight class at the Turkish Open in Antalya. At the 2026 European Taekwondo Championships held in Munich, Germany, he won the gold medal in the men's 80 kg event. He defeated Seyed Omid Hosseini of Bulgaria in the round of 16, Spain's Juan Antonio Milán Cánovas in the quarter-finals and Croatia's Leon Hrgota in the semi-finals. In the final, he defeated Ukraine's Kyrylo Hurnov 2–0 to become European champion.
