Gaetano Cirivello
Gaetano Cirivello (born 27 July 2007) is an Italian taekwondo practitioner. Competing in the men's 54 kg division, Cirivello won the silver medal at the 2026 European Taekwondo Championships.
Career
Cirivello represented Italy in international tournaments from the youth age categories onward. In 2021, he won the gold medal in the cadets' 49 kg event at the Albania Open in Tirana. In 2023, he won the bronze medal in the juniors' 59 kg event at the Croatia Open in Zagreb.
In 2024, he won the silver medal in the juniors' 55 kg event at the European Clubs Championships in Tirana. The same year, he competed in the 55 kg event at the 2024 World Junior Taekwondo Championships held in Chuncheon, South Korea. He defeated Emre Talha Evin, Marin Ćurković and Prodomos Angelos Hadjicosti to reach the quarter-finals, where he lost to Azat Besaev and finished outside the medals.
In 2025, Cirivello competed in the 54 kg event at the European U21 Taekwondo Championships in Pristina. He defeated Adrian Dávila Rodríguez and Bernat Nadal Mir before losing to Turkey's Kaan Yelaldı in the round of 16.
In 2026, he won the gold medal in the 54 kg event at the Austrian Open in Innsbruck and the bronze medal in the same weight class at the Dutch Open in Eindhoven. At the 2026 European Taekwondo Championships held in Munich, Germany, he won the silver medal in the men's 54 kg event. He defeated Bulgaria's Hristiyan Georgiev 2–0 in the semi-finals to reach the final. In the final, he lost 2–0 to Spain's Jairo Agenjo Trigos and finished second at the championships.
