Hristiyan Georgiev

Hristiyan Georgiev (; born 23 March 2005) is a Bulgarian taekwondo practitioner. Competing in the men's 54 kg division, Georgiev won the bronze medal at the 2026 European Taekwondo Championships. He won the silver medal at the 2024 European U21 Taekwondo Championships and the bronze medal at the 2025 World U21 Taekwondo Championships.

Career

Georgiev represented Bulgaria in international tournaments from the cadet and junior age categories onward. In 2022, he reached the quarter-finals in the 48 kg event at the World Junior Taekwondo Championships held in Sofia. He defeated Hasan Ayaz and Ayush Shukla before losing to Kazakhstan's Asset Izgaliyev and finishing outside the medals.

In 2023, Georgiev competed at senior world level in the men's 54 kg event at the 2023 World Taekwondo Championships in Baku. During the same season, he won a silver medal at the Croatia Open in Zagreb, a gold medal at the Montenegro Open in Podgorica and a bronze medal in the 58 kg event at the Sweden Open in Uppsala.

In 2024, he won gold medals in the 54 kg event at the European edition of the WT President's Cup in Tallinn and at the Riga Open. He also competed in the same weight class at the 2024 European Taekwondo Championships in Belgrade. In November, at the 2024 European U21 Taekwondo Championships in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, he won the silver medal in the 54 kg event. During the tournament, he defeated Aljaž Miklavčič, Bleron Ademi, Nikola Ilić, Kaan Yelaldı and Jairo Agenjo Trigos to reach the final. In the final, he lost to Turkey's Furkan Ubeyde Çamoğlu and finished as European U21 runner-up.

In 2025, Georgiev won gold medals in the 54 kg event at the Slovenia Open in Ljubljana and the Polish Open in Warsaw. At the 2025 World Taekwondo Championships in Wuxi, China, he reached the quarter-finals in the men's 54 kg event. He defeated Mohamed Amine Zoghlami, Dmitriy Balakhneev and Wilfrido de la Cruz before losing to Turkey's Furkan Ubeyde Çamoğlu. The same year, he won the bronze medal in the men's 54 kg event at the 2025 World U21 Taekwondo Championships in Nairobi, Kenya. He defeated Abondance Elohim Selomin Mededji, Dmitriy Balakhneev and Youngsuk Ethan Gun to reach the semi-finals, where he lost to India's Ankit Mer and finished third.

In 2026, Georgiev won the silver medal in the 54 kg event at the Slovenia Open in Ljubljana. The same year, he won the bronze medal in the men's 54 kg event at the 2026 European Taekwondo Championships held in Munich, Germany. Entering the tournament as the top seed, Georgiev defeated Croatia's Maroje Devernay in the round of 16 and Poland's Antoni Sokołowski 2–0 in the quarter-finals. In the semi-finals, he lost 2–0 to Italy's Gaetano Cirivello and finished third at the championships.
