Abderrahman Touiar
Abderrahman Touiar (born 24 August 2009) is an Italian taekwondo practitioner. Competing in the men's 58 kg division, Touiar won the silver medal at the 2026 European Taekwondo Championships. In youth age categories, he won the gold medal at the 2025 European U21 Taekwondo Championships, the silver medal at the 2025 European Junior Taekwondo Championships and the bronze medal at the 2025 European Youth Olympic Festival.
Career
Touiar represented Italy in international tournaments from the cadet and junior age categories onward. In 2023, he won the gold medal in the 49 kg event at the European Cadet Taekwondo Championships held in Belgrade. During the tournament, he defeated Dragan Marić, Hasan Alızada, Mustafa Atlı and Sergej Ivanović to reach the final, where he beat İbrahim Efe Düzel 2–0 to become European cadet champion.
In 2024, Touiar competed in the 55 kg event at the World Junior Taekwondo Championships in Chuncheon, South Korea. During the same season, he won the gold medal in the juniors' 55 kg event at the European Clubs Championships in Tirana.
In 2025, he won the bronze medal in the men's 55 kg event at the 2025 European Youth Olympic Festival held in Skopje, North Macedonia. In November, he won the silver medal in the 55 kg event at the European Junior Taekwondo Championships in Aigle, Switzerland. He defeated Kevin Johansson, Marcos Pazos Sierra and Turkey's Emre Talha Evin to reach the final, where he lost to Greece's Aristidis Psarros and finished second.
In December 2025, Touiar won the gold medal in the men's 54 kg event at the 2025 European U21 Taekwondo Championships held in Pristina, Kosovo. During the tournament, he defeated Rafael Alexandre Azevedo, Adrian Dávila Rodríguez, Ömer Talha Dülger, Asadulla Melikov, Jairo Agenjo Trigos and Emir Muhsin Dülger to reach the final. In the final, he defeated Kaan Yelaldı to become European U21 champion.
In 2026, Touiar won the silver medal in the 58 kg event at the Austrian Open in Innsbruck. The same year, he won the silver medal in the men's 58 kg event at the 2026 European Taekwondo Championships held in Munich, Germany. Touiar defeated Spain's Jesus Fraile in the round of 32, Serbia's Lev Korneev in the round of 16, Croatia's Josip Teskera in the quarter-finals and Greece's Konstantinos Dimitropoulos in the semi-finals to reach the final. He lost 2–0 to Belarusian athlete Georgii Gurtsiev in the final and finished as European runner-up.
