Kai Nakano Rasmussen is a Japanese-American cartoonist from Wisconsin, who specializes in bioethics issues. Background An artist for most of his life, Rasmussen started off by drawing the webcomic "Welcome to Hell". When he first began political cartooning his style was heavily influenced by political cartoonists Mike Luckovich and Rob Rogers. Over time his style developed and his subject matter turned to issues such as clinical research, pharmaceuticals and psychiatric medicine. He has worked with AFL-CIO in the past. Style Rasmussen's style has been described as a blend between traditional Japanese manga style and American cartooning. He is noted for his focus on medical ethics in his political cartooning. Current Work Rasmussen currently draws for the Badger Herald at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Big Cookie In 2015 Rasmussen began writing Big Cookie, a webcomic series revolving around a fantasy type candy planet with real political issues.
