Gliese 269 is a binary star system located in the night sky at right ascension −46° 58′ 45″ and declination 07h 17m 3s in the constellation of Puppis. The star has a total proper motion of 0.578 yr and at a distance of 47.6light years(12.24 ± 1.45 pc) and an absolute magnitude of 7.26 this star has an apparent magnitude of 8.08 when viewed from Earth. The primary star is a K1 V class star with a temperature of 4945±54 K and a mass 0.62 times the sun, while the b componant is a K4 V class star, 0.86" away. The stars nearest stellar neighbours are GJ1088 and Hip 34069. The star is also known as HD-57095, HIP-35296, cd-46° 3046, SAO- 218611, YPC: 1722.00, and LHS-1911.
