Gliese 40

Gliese 40 is a K5 V class star located in the night sky at Right ascension 00h 51m 34s and declination −22° 54′ 36″ in the constellation of Cetus.
At a distance of 49.6 light Years and an absolute magnitude of 8.16 this star has an apparent magnitude of 9.04 when viewed from earth.
The star itself has a mass of approximately 0.69 times the sun ( 0.69Mo), a surface temperature of 4400°k
and a total Proper Motion of 0.673yr. (113.7°).

The star is also known as HD 4967,
HIP-4022, SAO-166631, cd -23° 332 A, LHS 1159, Vys 089A, YPC173.00 and LP 826-170.
Gliese 40A also has a class MV companion orbiting with a separation of 260 AU designated Gl 40 B.
