In 1993 he made La Conciencia del Fotógrafo, at the III Encuentro Latinoamericano de Fotografía, in the Galería los Espacios Cálidos, Ateneo de Caracas, in Caracas, Venezuela. Awards
During his life he ahs been awarded wiht several distintions, among them we can mention in 1953 the Prize "Alvaro Reynoso" to his film Arroz Cubano, at the Concurso Nacional de Periodismo, in Havana, Cuba. In 1984 he obtained The National Prize for Photography - Premio Nacional de Fotografía "José Tabío" - is established, in the I Bienal de La Habana, granted to Mario García Joya. And in 1986 he gained Unique (post-mortem) prize to the best photograph book of the year, to his book Tiempo para no olvidar, In the Concurso Nacional "El Arte del Libro," Havana, Cuba.
