Orlando Suárez Suárez
Orlando Suárez Suárez was born in Vereda Nueva, Havana, Cuba, in April 29, 1926. He died in Havana, Cuba, in December 15, 1986. He develops the Painting, Drawing, Mural Painting, Graphic Design, and Engarving. In 1952 he studied muralism in the Escuela de Muralismo in Mexico. In 1956 he extends his study of mural technique, in Mexico. And in 1968 he Studied one year in Siqueiros' workshop, in Mexico.
Individual Exhibitions
He made many individual exhibitions, among them we can mention in 1948 Exposición de Dibujos, in the Salón de los Pasos Perdidos, in Capitolio Nacional, Havana, Cuba. In 1967 he exhibited Una Línea en dos Tiempos, in Calle 23 No. 156, La Rampa, in Havana, Cuba. And in 1970 he presented Tres pintores se unen, esta vez, para ofrecer su visión de la Revolución. Exhiben pinturas, dibujos y grabados [Antonio Canet, Juan Moreira, Orlando Suárez], in the Galería L, in Havana, Cuba.
Collective Exhibitions
He was part in many collecive exhibitions like the XXIX Salón Anual de Pintura y Escultura, in the Círculo de Bellas Artes, Havana, Cuba, in 1947. In 1962 he was included in Exposición de Grabados Litográficos Experimentales, in the Galería del Grabado Francisco Javier Báez, Havana, Cuba. In 1973 he was one of the selected artists to conform the I Exposición Internacional de la Pintura Comprometida, in the Galería Nacional de Bellas Artes, Sofia, Bulgaria. And in 1986 some of his works were selected to conform Exposición 25 Aniversario de la Galería de Arte de Centro Habana, in the Galería de Arte, Galiano y Concordia, Havana, Cuba.
