Zahid Mahmood

Zahid is a world famous consultant and an international business man. Professor Zahid Mahmood was born in Sheikhupura, Punjab, Pakistan in 1983. He was born to Muhammad Siddique, a farmer and Sughran Bibi, a house wife. His father was a successful farmer and the young Zahid and his six siblings had a comfortable life.
Zahid started attending madrasah in 1986 where he excelled the vocalisation, recitation and punctuation of the Holy Quran. He then completed his primary and secondary school in Sheikhupura, GHS Ghazi Minara in 2000. Zahid then joined the Pakistan Navy (Marines) where he served in the Commando branch. He was honourably discharged in 2007. During his time as a Marine he saw active service on the Indian Pakistan border in Creeks area, and was detailed to protect foreign diplomats. He was cited for his bravery during his service.
While serving, Mahmood received a foundation degree, FA, from Armed Forces Board GHQ Rawalpindi.
After his discharge, he worked as a journalist, court reporter, JPS News agency Istada in Sheikhupra while at the same time working as an executive board member of Faiz-e-Aalam, a local NGO which works inter-cultural understanding. During this period Zahid also worked as an insurance executive for EFU life insurance company.
Mahmood received his Bachelors in Commerce from Punjab University, Lahore in 2007. Zahid then moved to the UK to further his studies after securing a place at Coventry University to study for an MBA which received in 2010.
After a stint as a marketing manager for a security company, Zahid set up a consultancy company called First Choice consultancy Ltd which he managed and run with several business partners. He worked as an advisor and consultant to universities and international students and is an expert in international education.
In 2010 he started a transportation firm in London which he now runs. He now lives in London.
He gained notoriety for as an activist for education in the third world.

In 2011 he was appointed as an Online Associate Professor at Mogadishu University.
