Cheng Huang Temple

Cheng Huang Temple is a temple in the vicinity of Lotus Lake in Taiwan.
History
It also called Zauying Cheng Huang Temple, located at No.1, Dianzaidin Rd., Zuoying Dist., Kaohsiung City 813, Taiwan, nearby Lotus Lake. In 1704, the Fengshan country government was built to worship Cheng Huang. The Old City Cheng Huang Temple worships Cheng Huang God; additional, Songzi Niangniang, Earth God, Tiger Marshal, Xie Fan Marshal, Day Tour God, Night Tour God, article and military judge, Merit Lord and Secretary Lord are minor.In 1787, Lin Shuang-wen event, the county was destroyed and moved to New City(Today’s Kaohsiung Fengshan).
When The Old City Cheng Huang Temple was established, in 1793, it was rebuilt by the Confucianism-Wu Ce Hoon and staff-Chen Dakui rebuilt it in 1946. After Japanese colonial period, Neiwei-Li Tian hui and Zuoying-Xie yao lin was rebuilt it again. The last major renovation was in 1962, through Xie yao lin and many residents to donated; finally it was completed in 1969.
Above the main hall of Cheng Huang Temple, there is a large abacus made of 147 pearls. That is a feature of The Old City Cheng Huang Temple. This abacus called “Asking self heart”. It means that people who come to temple all ask themselves. Nowadays, whenever Cheng Huang tour around, temple staff will bring abacus with touring procession to show the feature of Cheng Huang Temple.
