Mark Rammond

Mark John Rammond (born 7 July 1975 in Bolton, England) is a London based internet marketer who specializes in the field of financial services and insurance.
He has won a series of personal and business awards in his time at British Insurance.
He was personally voted 'Outstanding Online Marketer' as an individual by the British Business Awards in November 2009 and his business awards have come via British Insurance, a company specializing in Payment Protection, which became the winner of categories such as Outstanding Online Insurance Provider, Best Online Insurance Provider, Outstanding Consumer Champion and for Excellence in Customer Service.
Rammond has built his profile via the Nationwide 'In the Know' financial blog and has delivered presentations at a variety of European and UK conferences which include seminars on internet banking in Sweden, internet acquisition in Greece in financial services. and has presented key notes seminars in London on behalf of Revolution Magazine and on Social Marketing at the IDBG in October 2009.
Early life
Mark Rammond was born in July 1975 and is the son of John and Ann Rammond, who both worked for Royal Mail. He has one younger brother, Steve. As a younger child he attended St Gregory The Great Primary School and Mount St Josephs Secondary School at the same time as Peter Kay.
He then attended Bolton College, alongside Patrick McGuinness, where he resat his GCSES and then attended South Bolton VI Form College where he studied A-Level Computing, Business Studies, English Literature and General Studies. He was then admitted to Lancaster University, studying Economics, Sociology and Organisational Psychology and gained a Second Class Honours (Division One) Degree. He then obtained an MBA in Business Administration from Oklahoma City University.
Career History
At the beginning of his career Rammond worked as a Volunteer Teacher in Mexico before returning home and working on a short-term basis at Impharm Nationwide Limited in Bolton. He moved to Ipswich at the start of the new Millennium to work for Siemens Metering Services as an e-Commerce Project Manager, then to the East Midlands where he worked as an Analyst for the Derbyshire Building Society and then to Egg.com where he became a Targeting Manager.
He moved to Swindon in 2005 to Nationwide Building Society whereby he developed a series of new initiatives including the inaugural Search Engine Optimization and Affiliates programs, the aggregator strategy and presided over the redevelopment of nationwide.co.uk and the internet bank. In January 2009 he agreed to move to Towergate Partnership to become Head of Marketing, E-Divisions.
