Nick Jeffery is a well known British business executive; and current CEO of Vodafone Global Enterprise (VGE) division of Vodafone.<ref name=NJ-V-B-01/> Nick joined Vodafone in 2004 as Group Marketing Director - Business, where he was instrumental in redefining Vodafone’s strategy for its Enterprise customers. In September 2006, when Vodafone created a separate business services division for its Enterprise customers - VGE, he was promoted as its CEO. He holds a B.A. degree in Economics from University of Warwick.<ref nameNJ-V-B-02/><ref nameNJ-V-B-03/> He started his career with Mercury Communications; and later with Cable & Wireless Communications, where, he held senior roles - most prominent being the CEO International Markets. Early life and education He was born in Reading, United Kingdom.<ref nameNJ-V-B-03/> In 1987, he enrolled for a graduate program in B.A., Economics from University of Warwick, which he graduated in 1990.<ref nameNJ-V-B-02/> Career Early career - Mercury Communications, C&W : 1994-2002 Nick career in telecom industry began at Mercury Communications, a subsidiary of Cable & Wireless plc and the first competitor to British Telecom. He joined Mercury in 1994 as Marketing Manager, and later in 1997 became Managing Director - International & Partner Services.<ref name=NJ-V-B-02/> In October 1996, Mercury was merged with three cable operators in the UK : Vidéotron, Nynex and Bell Cable media, and C&W plc rebranded the combined entity as 'Cable & Wireless Communications' (CWC) - in which C&W plc kept a 53% stake.<ref nameCWC-H-18/>. In 1998, Nick was chosen as President, Service Providers - CWC, and later in 2000 led the CWC's International Markets division as CEO till 2002.<ref nameNJ-V-B-02/> CIENA and entrepreneurial journey : 2002-2004 In 2002, he joined an US-based telecom business services provider - Ciena Corporation, in its London office as Senior Vice President (Worldwide Sales). At CIENA, he was also Managing Director for the EMEA and Asia regions.<ref name=NJ-V-B-02/> In 2001, Nick co-founded Microfone - a business services provider to retail brands.<ref name=NJ-V-B-01/> Vodafone : 2006-till date In 2004, Nick joins Vodafone, which was strategising a plan to be a key player in the enterprise space. As in the role of Group Marketing Director - Business, he was instrumental in redefining Vodafone’s strategy for its Enterprise customers. In 2006, Vodafone with the strategic ambition to become a global player in managed communications services for multinational and local enterprises; decides to create a separate business services division - Vodafone Global Enterprise (VGE). Nick was chosen to lead VGE, which became fully operational in April 2007. VGE has done some key acquisitions under his leadership (and through its parent group - Vodafone), namely : Bluefish Communications Ltd<ref name=NJ-V-B-05/> (2011) and Cable & Wireless Worldwide (2012).<ref nameNJ-V-B-04/><ref nameNJ-V-B-06/>
