Windent Dental Systems, is a division of Healthsoft Inc. Healthsoft is the publisher for a line of software programs that provide practice management solutions to private dental practices, private oral and maxillofacial surgery practices, oral surgery teaching clinics associated with universities and teaching hospitals, as well as dental colleges. The products include Windent OMS, Windent SQL, Windent Enterprise, and Windent Platinum. Healthsoft was founded in 1987 for the sole purpose of providing management software for dental professionals. The corporate headquarters is located in Richardson, Texas.
Windent SQL and Windent OMS use a relational database system from Pervasive Software with no limits on the number of workstations. The Enterprise (Windent EE) and Platinum versions use Microsoft SQL Server as the database engine and can also support large numbers of workstations and multiple locations. All of the Windent systems offer integrations to fully-integrate with digital imaging, vitals monitors and other third-party software. Systems offer complete electronic medical records functions and 3-dimensional charting.
