Synamed

Synamed is an American healthcare information technology company, established in 1999, that provides web-based electronic medical records and practice management system to medical practitioners in the United States. The company is headquartered in Midtown Manhattan, New York City. Synamed was certified in April 2006 by the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology (CCHIT). The electronic medical record system is currently on version 5.4.
Company History
Synamed's electronic medical record was created by a New York based physician named Paul Kim in 1999. The company introduced its practice management system in 2003. In 2004 Synamed developed a partnership with ScanSoft Dragon Naturally speaking in order to provide speech recognition. Synamed announced another partnership and system interface with Nuesoft technologies in July 2007.
On March 21, 2008 Synamed announced a new business plan. By changing to an ad sponsored model Synamed will offer its electronic medical and practice management system record software for free.
Over the years Synamed has established a national presence and provides services to 1,763 users from many medical specialties.
