Tony Bain

Tony Bain (born February 2, 1978) is a Melbourne-based author, blogger and computer programmer. Tony is a New Zealand citizen but has lived in Australia since 2003.
In 2000 Bain started and ran the sqlserver.co.nz web site, an early and popular blog site which focused on the Microsoft SQL Server database product. In 2002 he received the Microsoft Most Valuable Professional award and was subsequently re-awarded with in 2003, 2004 & 2005. In 2004 Tony was the SQL Server expert for TechTarget where he answered technical questions submitted by users. From 2002 through to 2006 Tony was a speaker at the yearly Microsoft Tech Ed conference, presenting over a dozen sessions on SQL Server database management. Also in 2004 Tony was recruited by Red Rock Consulting to establish and run a new SQL Server consulting and support division. Out of this spawned the RockSolid SQL Server management product.
Currently Tony is an Associate Director of Red Rock Consulting and CEO of Tony Bain Group, a company that makes investments in early stage software development organisations and products.
