Ulthuan

The Isle of Ulthuan is home to the High Elves. It is located in the ocean between the Old World (equivalent of Europe) and the New World (North America). It is similar to many legends of Atlantis. During the civil war between the High Elves and the Dark Elves known as The Sundering, the greatest of the Elven mages cast a devastating counter-spell to thwart Malekith's evil plans, but in doing so caused much of the outer lands of the island nation to sink beneath the waves. There are ten kingdoms of Ulthuan; these are:

Avelorn: Home of the Everqueen, Alarielle. This land is covered in lush forest and is home to Pegasi, Unicorns, and Giant Eagles. Avelorn is the oldest kingdom of Ulthuan; from here the Everqueens have ruled throughout the centuries from the Gaen Vale, a rich valley where they sing and dance with their Handmaidens, beautiful and skilled female warriors.

Caledor: The most martial and proudest of the realms. Caledor was once the heart of Ulthuan's power with its mighty Mage-Princes and their great Dragon Mounts. Sadly, the dragonrider unit has been removed from the army, making way for Dragon Mages in the Hero selection and Dragonrider lords .

Chrace: Home of the White Lions of Chrace, High Elves possessing great strength and wielding large axes, who act as a ceremonial bodyguard to the Phoenix King. The Asur of Chrace are also the first line of defence against Dark Elf attacks, and so are more bitter and warlike than other Asur. Since the time of Lord Salendor of Tor Achre (the capital of Chrace) the Chracians have also held a greater disdain for magic than other Asur. This is because Lord Salendor was a mage, and his magic failed to bring him home safely after the War of the Beard. The Asur of Chrace also disdain the politics of their brethren, as the death of lords and generals are so common in Chrace, a simpler line of succession is necessary.

Cothique: A coastal realm, whose main industries involve shipping, trading, and fishing. Not much is ever said about Cotique.

Eataine: Home to the greatest city in Ulthuan, Lothern. This great city is home to tens of thousands of Asur, and is Ulthuan's centre of trade. It is guarded by 10,000 Lothern Sea Guard and a score of impenetrable defenses. It houses the Glittering Lighthouse and the massive seagates. The seagates can effectively cut of all naval transport from the outer and inner sea.

Ellyrion: Home of the horselords. The Asur here learn to ride as soon as they can walk, and are the greatest horsemen in Ulthuan. The capital of Ellyrion is Tor Elyr. They were among the first of the Northern realms to pledge support to Caledor I. Ellyrian Reavers get spears or bows, and are special choice cavalry

Nagarythe: This is the land from where the Druchii originate. Most of Nagarythe sunk under the sea during The Sundering. Today the land is ruled by the Shadow warriors, the surviving Asur of Nagarythe that remained loyal to the Phoenix King. The capital is Anlec, and is the site of many bitter battles between the Asur and the Druchii.

Tiranoc: A sunken realm still recovering from the Sundering. It is home to great charioteers. The capital was Tor Anroc, but it sunk beneath the waves. It's not stated which city is the current capital. The Asur of Tor Anroc (named after the sunken capital) in the Old World originate from this realm. (Gilead te tuin Lothain ut tor Anroc for an example)

Saphery: Home of the Mages of Ulthuan, who reside in the miles-high Tower of Hoeth, where all the knowledge of the Asur is stored. The tower was built on the orders of Bel-Korhandis the Scholar-King. It is guarded zealously by the Swordmasters of Hoeth, the most skilled swordsmen in the world.

Yvresse: The most sparsely-populated Asur realm. It has a single city, Tor Yvresse. Eltharion the White Sword was the former warden of this city, and halted the Goblin invasion of Grom the Paunch.
