The White refer to the five chosen priests of the Circle in the Age of the Five series of books by Trudi Canavan.
Background They are called such as their preferred style of dress is a pure white tunic, denouncing any fashionable or decorative ties, symbolising their devotion to the Gods. All the White are immensely gifted with magical skill and are the most powerful Mages in the Circlian theocracy. The White all have their own distinctive features. For example, Rian is utterly devoted to and besotted with the Gods, Juran is a great leader, Dyara is very stern and Mairae has a reputation for having a lot of lovers (in Last of the Wilds she admits she "uses them for sex"). The five White were chosen at intervals of twenty-five years by the Circle, from the High Priests and High Priestesses of the Circlian religion. The White's counterpart in the Pentadrian religion is the Voice of the Gods
The White are initially comprised of, in order of strength: *Juran *Dyara *Rian *Mairae
After Auraya's selection in The Priestess of the White
*Juran *Dyara *Auraya* *Rian *Mairae
After Auraya's resignation in The Last of the Wilds
*Juran *Dyara *Ellareen *Rian *Mairae
-*Auraya was officially ranked as third in strength, however, speculation within the books places her ahead of every other magician in the series in terms of power.
