The Road to New Hope

A fictional novel published in the summer of 2009 that chronicles the life of Charlie Odel. Charlie is a pastor at a small church in northeastern North Carolina who has always had a firm commitment to the Lord. In the first installment of an apparently-planned planned series, Charlie is feeling estranged from God, as well as his brother Harley. Charlie and Harley were close as children, but as adults, they had a falling out that now haunts both of them. Their attempts to deal with their personal feelings of estrangement are chronicled in The Road to New Hope. The other major characters in the novel are Mary Alice Odel (Charlie's wife) and Victoria (Harley's girlfriend who apparently has no last name). The Road to New Hope is the first installment of a planned continuing series and may soon become part of American cultural knowledge. |
