Sylvain Azougoui

Sylvain Azougoui (born in Porto-Novo, Benin c. 1983 - died in Bongoville, Gabon, 20 April 2014) was a Benin footballer and goalkeeper.
Azougoui joined the Gabon club Racing Club de Masuku in 2003, at the age of 20 years of age. Eight years later, after management changes and a move to Bongoville, the club was renamed AC Bongoville in the Gabon Championnat National D1. In his first season in Bongoville, the club finished 9th in the country's top football league. Subsequently the club slipped to second division. But after winning championship of Division 2 in 2011, it moved back to Division 1 in 2011-2012.
Azougoui died on 20 April 2014 during a Division 1 game between his club AC Bongoville and rival Centre Mberi Sportif. In a league game held in Bongoville, Azougoui was accidentally hit on the head by Sanogo, an attacker from the opposing team. Azougoui died on his way to hospital.
