Houtan Delfi (born 27 August, 1992 in Sydney) is a professional Iran born Australian football player who plays for FK Proleter Novi Sad in the Serbian First League. Player Background Previous Clubs Houtan discovered his love for football at a young age, beginning his football experience with local club at 6 years old. He then continued to Inter Lions FC Nationality and Background Houtan, although born in Australia, is of Iranian descent with family located in the southern region, in the city of Ahvaz. 12-14 years old Germany At the age of 13, Houtan travelled to Germany and trained with clubs Bayern Munich Junior Team and Hertha Berlin Sports Club. However, he returned to Australia as a move to Germany would have been too strenuous for family. Iran From Germany, Delfi returned to his home country Iran, with offers to play for Iran National Football Team and also to train with Iranian side Esteghlal Tehran FC in the pre-season. Instead of training with Esteghlal, he linked up with Paykan F.C. 15-17 years old Serbia Houtan's exploration of the world of football continued when he visited Serbia, trying out for Red Star Belgrade. This period lasted for 2 months, with Houtan returning to Australia to complete his final years of secondary education.
