Scribble Maps

Scribble Maps is a flash based, fully multilingual, web mapping service and technology that utilizes the Google Maps API, as well as proprietary technology developed by 52 Stairs Studio Inc. it expands on the services provided by Google My Maps with additional tools and features. There is currently two versions of Scribble Maps, Scribble Maps and Scribble Maps Pro. Scribble Maps Pro is lite GIS mapping platform utilizing Sharp Map with support for KML, CSV, XLS, and ESRI Shape File, with more support planned in the future. Scribble Maps Pro also supports extend styling functionality not supported by Google Maps including, line styles such as hash lines, and dimension measurement lines. Scribble Maps Pro is also the first web-based mapping service to feature a Photoshop like layer panel. Both versions are currently free to use, but pro requires a user to register.

: All maps on Scribble Maps can be saved as a widget that can be embedded on a website or blog. Scribble Maps also utilizes Widget Box to allow for embedding on to popular social media website such as Facebook.

Scribble Maps Pro contains all the base features of Scribble Maps, and also adds the following:
; Full Layer Support
: Layers can be dragged and dropped, sorted into folders, deleted, and managed. Each layer also includes a thumbnail for its particular contents
; Shape File Support
: Shape Files can be imported into Scribble Maps and rendered out to either a widget, or an image.
; Spread Sheet Support
: CSV or XLS can be imported and rendered out as markers, or drawings
; File Manager
: File can be loaded later after being imported
; KML Editor
: A basic KML editor for viewing and modifying the current map.
; Line Split Tool
: A tool allow a user to cut a straight line, or segment into two pieces
; Pen Tool
: A tool to allow the users draw smooth curved line
; Line Styling
: Custom line styling including arrow, and hash
; Measrument Tools
: Polygon Measurement, Straight Line Measurement, and Free form measurement are all available
; Rotate
: Polygons, and line segments can be rotated
; Undo/Redo
: Users can undo and redo actions
Usage in Education
Because Scribble Maps does not require registration to make maps, it has become popular in the education sector.
