Rohit Jaggi (born 1957 in London, United Kingdom) is a British journalist. He is currently the aviation and motorcycle columnist, and a commissioning editor, for the Financial Times. His multi-media role includes scripting and presenting videos for the Financial Times website , writing reviews of aircraft , motorcycles and other vehicles in the Financial Times's Wealth and Weekend magazines, and writing articles about the aviation and transport sectors . He has a commercial helicopter licence, and a private airplane licence with an instrument rating. In his career at the Financial Times he has been Asia-Pacific news editor, social affairs correspondent, diary writer, UK news editor, and has fulfilled a number of other editing and writing roles including periods based in India and other Asian countries. Rohit Jaggi comes from a family of writers, artists and actors. He is the brother of Maya Jaggi , who writes about literary and cultural affairs for a range of publications including the Guardian. His mother is the older sister of the actress, chef and author Madhur Jaffrey, and thus he is Madhur Jaffrey’s nephew and the first cousin of the writer Zia Jaffrey , the actress Sakina Jaffrey and the teacher and musician Meera Jaffrey . Through one of his mother’s brothers, he is also the first cousin of the journalist Janaki Bahadur Kremmer who is married to the award-winning Australian journalist and author Christopher Kremmer . Rohit Jaggi lives in central London and has two children, Phoebe born 1991 and Cicely born 1996.
