Hoxs64 is a freeware Commodore 64 emulator developed by David Horrocks of United Kingdom. It reproduces the Commodore 64C, with the 8580 SID and the 8565 VIC-II chips, as well as either one 1541 disk drive or Datasette tape drive. Hoxs64 is developed with the aim to provide the most accurate C64 emulation for this particular setup - as of the time of this writing (August 2009), it is the only emulator to feature cycle exact emulation of all internal operations of the VIC-II. Numerous undocumented and obscure details are emulated, including the analogue bit fading, effects occurring during a fraction of a clock phase, and behaviour logic specific to the new revision of the VIC-II.
