Zubed

Zubed Geospatial is a UK based location intelligence company, a developer of web-based public sector and corporate geomapping and search applications. A Triad Group Plc business, it began trading in 2007. Triad is a UK IT services company founded in 1988 and listed on the London stock exchange.
History
Zubed was conceived early in 2005, by CEO Ian Haynes. Zubed was initially developed to apply mapping interfaces, and semantic analysis and search to the Talent Management sector. From this point, the scope of Zubed was extended to apply these technologies to a broader range of solutions including corporate solutions enabling the plotting and visualisation of large amounts of data.
The company now offers the core technologies, a modular location intelligence toolset, for customised application. A number of Zubed's internal web-GIS projects have led to the packaging of application specific solutions.
Web-GIS/Location Intelligence Applications
Applications have been built for customers who use the Zubed tool to import data from CRM solutions (Salesforce.com, Goldmine and Sage), Business Intelligence tools (Business Objects, Cognos and Hyperion), and displaying the data on an interactive map that allows the user to drill down into the data in real-time, geographically. Considerable use is starting to be made in central and local Government where many applications exist where the application of Location Intelligence can deliver information back out to the public.
Predominantly using Google's online base mapping, Zubed's applications make use of many traditional GIS and database functions, such as:
* Point and thematic mapping
* Database querying
* Extraction and exporting of data from maps
* Secondary analysis of data (tables, graphs and charts)
* Map-based field communications
* Email integration
* Semantic data extraction from unstructured text
* Federated web searching
This can be considered in contrast to the typical application of online mapping by web developers, e.g. for store finders.
