Sasha Velour

Sasha Velour is the stage name of Alexander Hedges Steinberg (born 1987), Early life Steinberg attended Leal Elementary School, and graduated from Vassar College in 2009 with a BA in Modern Literature. In 2010, Steinberg became a Fulbright Scholar in Moscow, Russia. Following this, he studied for an MFA at the Center for Cartoon Studies in 2013. Career Velour had auditioned for RuPaul's Drag Race twice before being chosen to participate in season 9. Velour created and stars in the drag event “Nightgowns” at Bizarre Bushwick in Bushwick, Brooklyn. Velour is the designer of the House of Velour shop. |
