Jeremy Wynes

Jeremy Wynes (born August 14, 1979) is a candidate for Congress in Illinois's 10th congressional district. His candidacy marks the first time since 2010 that the matchup will not be between former Congressman Bob Dold and incumbent Brad Schneider. It is expected that the race will continue to be one of the most hotly contested and expensive in the country. It is expected that the race continues to Prior to running for Congress, he served as the Midwest Regional Director for the Republican Jewish Coalition, according to the RJC's website the organization, "works to sensitize Republican leadership in government and the party to the concerns and issues of the Jewish community, while articulating and advocating Republican ideas and policies within the Jewish community." He also worked with the Midwest Political Director for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee for eight years.
Early life and education
Wynes was raised in the Quad Cities of western Illinois. He attended Illinois State University for his undergraduate work and then studied law at the DePaul University College of Law. He says he grew up as a Democrat but later became a Republican because he, "eventually realized the Democratic Party was abandoning its moderate voters and leaders for the sake of so-called ‘progressive’ leadership."
Career
Initially after finishing law school Wynes worked as a private practice attorney. In 2008 he began working for American Israel Public Affairs Committee as their Midwest Political Director prior to becoming the first ever Midwest Regional Director for the RJC.
