Sal Peralta (born July 22 1970 in Boulder, Colorado) is an American businessperson and politician in the state of Oregon. He is president of Vanguard Campaigns, a political consulting firm with more than 30 seasonal employees. He is a registered lobbyist and serves as secretary of the Independent Party of Oregon. He is a co-founder of Democracy for Oregon, and a former board member of the Oregon Bus Project. His company collected 76,000 signatures to put the Open Primary, Ballot Measure 65, on the 2008 general election ballot, and he is a chief petitioner on a measure to repeal Oregon's corporate kicker law. In 2006, Peralta helped to pass campaign finance reform legislation in Oregon via public initiative, and lost to a three-term incumbent for a seat in the the Oregon House of Representatives. He ran as a Democrat to represent District 24, which includes Yamhill and Polk counties. He lives in McMinnville with his wife, Tanya, and daughter, Bella.
