Robert A Paquin III (born June 15, 1984) is a political consultant and Republican politician in the State of Rhode Island. Background The son of Robert A Paquin Jr. and Kelley (Mernick) Paquin, Robert A Paquin III was raised in Warwick, Rhode Island. He attended Toll Gate High School, where he participated in Track & Field, Model Legislature, Mock Trial, and graduated with Honors. He was selected to attend the National Youth Leadership Forum as well as the American Legion Boys State Program for promising youth involved in Civics, Government, and Politics. He went on to study Political Science at the University of Rhode Island where he also served on the URI Student Senate. Paquin is both the owner of The Paquin Group, as well as an Account Executive with New Horizons Computer Learning Centers Northeast. He resides in Cranston, RI and is married to Katharine J Paquin (Miller) of Chesapeake, VA. Political career Paquin's political career began at the early age of 16. He worked tirelessly for such notable Politicians as Warwick, RI Mayor Scott Avedisian, Senator Lincoln Chafee, City Councilman Charles "C.J." Donovan, and School Committee Candidate Dom Murgo. In 2008 Paquin's own political ambitions finally became apparent when he ran as a Delegate for Presidential Candidate Mike Huckabee. Robert assisted in managing the Huckabee campaign effort in Rhode Island until the Huckabee withdrew from the race in April, 2008. Paquin is currently a Delegate to the Rhode Island Republican State Central Committee. Campaign 2008 In May 2008, Paquin announced his candidacy for State Representative in RI's District 19 (Warwick/Cranston). He was the endorsed Republican candidate for that seat, and challenged incumbent Joseph McNamara, a Democrat. Paquin also received endorsements from the Moderate Party of Rhode Island and the RI Republican Assembly. The election was held on November 4, 2008; with Paquin coming in second with 31.1% of the vote. Campaign 2010 The 2010 campaign season saw Paquin engaged in consulting on a variety of campaigns, including William "Bill" Clegg who ran for US Congress in Rhode Island's 2nd District as well as State Legislature candidates Richard Rodi, David Sullivan, Michael Grossi, and Jim Quinlan. The Paquin Group Paquin is currently the Principal Owner and active Political Consultant for the New England based consulting group. Awards and acknowledgments Robert has been recognized on numerous occasions by such esteemed organizations as the United States Secret Service, the RI Legal Education Partnership, the American Legion, the Spanish National Honor Society, the Rhode Island House of Representatives and the Rhode Island Senate, the Offices of the Governor and Secretary of State of RI, the US Department of Homeland Security, and many others.
