ROCKI is a system developed by ROCKI for streaming audio via wifi, funded by crowdfunding on Kickstarter. The project has been successfully funded on 20 December 2013 by 2367 backers. The Products * The hardware ROCKI PLAY is in the form of a plug-in device that plugs into the audio line-in (RCA and 3.5mm) of any speaker system. * A second hardware ROCKI PLAY+ was introduced during the Kickstarter project to add digital connectivity (Optical TOSLink and HDMI Audio) after initial reaction from Kickstarter backers that the first product did not have digital connectivity. All ROCKI hardware supports UPnP and are able to function as UPnP media renderer. The Apps The ROCKI App(s) provide function of setting up, connecting and playing music to one or multiple ROCKI hardware. * App for Android : Available in Google Play Store since 1st March 2014 * App for iOS : expected in April 2014 (before the app is ready, a workaround has been provided following the setup instructions on http://www.myrocki.com/ios and then playing via Airplay) * App for WindowsPhone, BB10, FirefoxOS, UbuntuOS, SailfishOS, Tizen : expected in April 2014 Standard UPnP software that has been tested to be able to play to ROCKI hardware. * BubbleUPnP The System The ROCKI system is built on open standards UPnP. Additional functionality on top of UPnP are expected to be packaged into an API for community developers.
