The PsYcHeDeLiC Detached Garage is a syndicated radio show that features primarily psychedelic and garage rock music. The show is hosted by George Cannon. The show originated on Way Off The Grid Radio hosted by Live365.com, in the fall of 2010, where the first 5 episodes were aired. The show was syndicated in May of 2011 and at that time the show was expanded from its previous 1 hour and 15 minute length to 2 plus hours. The show can be heard on both FM and Internet outlets. The show's syndication originated with the Urock Radio Network (Philadelphia) and is also heard on Rock 103 FM in central Indiana (Indianapolis), KZFX-FM (Fall City, WA)and Way Off The Grid Radio.
The syndicated show is 2 hours in length and features a mix of psychedelic sounds, garage and progressive rock and other rock music, vintage radio commercial spots, interviews and some comedy clips that contributes to the time warp/psychedelic atmosphere the show attempts to create every week. The show playlist has no rules but is built on a foundation of mid to late 60's psychedelic and acid rock with layers of garage, freakbeat, progressive, surf rock and on occasion some soul, funk and jazz music. The show is unique in that the playlist represents multiple genres of rock music and includes artists and records from both the past and the present.
The show is typically presented by network stations on Friday nights from 9-11 pm ET and is promoted with the tag line "It's so far out, it's innnn....."
