Big Nate on a Roll is the third book in the Big Nate book series. It is written by Lincoln Peirce. The book also comes with a preview of Big Nate Goes for Broke. Summary Nate gets detention which causes him to be late for his scout troop meeting. He uses his skateboard to get there quickly, but a woman and dog are in his way. This causes him to crash and his skateboard to roll into a swamp. Meanwhile, Nate finds out that whoever raises enough money for his scout troop gets a new skateboard. But he does not feel confident that he can raise enough money, because his enemy Atur just joined his troop, and Atur never loses. Soon, Nate realizes that no one will buy the warm fuzzies that he must sell. He decides to buy them himself, and pay for them with money he earns doing odd jobs. Eventually, Nate realizes that an old comic he has is worth a lot of money. When it is announced who sold the most warm fuzzies, Nate is shocked to learn that he and Artur tied. To decide who wins, a coin is flipped. Nate wins but Artur is still happy for him. Reception Reviews were generally positive. Jeff Kinney stated, "Big Nate is funny, big time."
