History
Script
The idea for a movie based off of AVGN was conceived by Rolfe when the series was starting to become popular on YouTube. The main thought on his mind was how to turn it into a movie. He then collaborated with Kevin Finn, an old friend of his from high school, to write a script. Rolfe says that it is so much more productive to write a script with two people, because "if you're just sitting at a computer typing away, the computer doesn't care what you type. The computer doesn't talk back or give you any encouragement, so you're just kind of inside your own head." He also says it has been a real positive experience going through the writing process.
The outline of the movie was written in 2007, and the script was written in 2008 and has been nurtured ever since.
Release
The release date for the movie has not yet been announced, but Rolfe has stated that the movie will either be seen in theaters or at film festivals and have its own independent run. The movie will also be released on DVD in the near future.
