Ollie Crowe

Ollie Crowe, Galway City Councillor and publican, born 1975.
Born in Bohermore, Galway City, his family owning Crowe's Bar on Prospect Hill. He was a talented sportsman in his younger days, representing Connacht in underage rugby as well as playing hurling and football. He remains heavily involved with local sporting organisations and is the present chairman of Our Lady's Boys Club RFC and a member of the Liam Mellowes Hurling Committee. He was elected a city councillor for five years in 2009 and his brother Michael is also a councillor for Galway City.
Crowe supported The Volvo Ocean Race in Galway, which was a great success and a welcome boost for businesses throughout the city with some reporting "a 25 per cent increase in takings". Crowe believes that the development of the tourism sector and local businesses is essential for Galway.
