| On Saturday, August the 16th of 2008 My Morning Jacket played a hometown performance on The Great Lawn at Louisville Waterfront Park. This concert through word of mouth has become a legendary musical landmark of the Louisville,KY. music scene which has produced many other well known musical artists. This hometown performance by the band was made intresting by the fact that the band insisted on having only local venders and donating a large portion of the proceeds of ticket sales to local charities. This concert was publisised largly by local radio station WFPK which was the first radio station to play the band's music. |
