Malachi Vale

Malachi Vale is a singer and songwriter from Montreal (Quebec, Canada). His music is an eclectic blend of blues, folk, country, americana and jazz.
His voice and style can remind Tom Waits and Leonard Cohen, but the music is uniquely his own. He worked for this project with Montreal producers Erik West-Millette (West Trainz, Marie-Jo Thério), Guy Kaye (, Jean Leloup, Cirque du Soleil) and Jean Massicotte (Adam Cohen, Patrick Watson, Alejandra Ribera).
Behind Malachi Vale is Marc Gagnon, a Montreal-born musician, songwriter and visual artist. He has exhibited and lived in many cities (Paris, Berlin, London - UK).
== EP "Swan Song" ==
Malachi Vale will release his first EP “Swan song” in May 2017. A collection of 5 dreamy, kaleidoscopic tunes tinged with the tone of an analogue yesteryear. The songs feel nostalgic yet contemporary, roaring headlong through the bramble, gavotte and twist. Delta Sahara, vague travelogues where blind fingers conduct animal orchestras.
Pipo Fiasco
Malachi Vale is a new project, but Marc Gagnon is not a beginner. In the early 21 century, he fronted the alt punk country swing ensemble Pipo Fiasco. The band released 3 albums between 2000 and 2006: “Omen Cats”, “33 1/3” and “PARADE”, recorded by Howard Bilerman from Arcade Fire at the studio Hotel Tutango, which received critical acclaim: “beautifully recorded, diy tour de force”, Earshot; “un fiasco réussi”, VOIR.
