John Jung

John Jung (born on 08 June 1987 in Seoul) is a Korean soccer player who currently plays for North York Astros in the Canadian Soccer League.
Playing career
Jung began his professional career with the Serbian White Eagles in 2009. During his short tenure with the club he faced stiff competition with already well established strikers, which caused Jung difficulty gaining sufficient playing time. Midway through the CSL 2009 season Jung was transferred to the North York Astros. Jung was among the new additional signings done by Astros head coach Vladimir Klinovsky midway through the season; in order to strengthen his squad for the battle over the final playoff berth. He recorded his first professional goal on August 2, 2009 against Portugal FC in a 4-0 away win. Though the Astros did overwhelmingly improve under Klinovsky leadership, it was not enough to secure the final playoff spot. The Astros would end up finishing second last in the National Division, eight points behind the final playoff spot.
