Adrian Pena

Adrian Pena (born on November 5, 1990 in Woodbridge) is a Canadian soccer player who currently plays for Portugal FC in the Canadian Soccer League.
Playing career
Pena is a product of the Dixie Soccer Club in Mississauga and was signed by the newly expansion franchise TFC Academy for the CSL 2008 season. On May 16, 2008 Pena made history in his debut match by scoring TFC Academy's first recorded goal against defending champions Toronto Croatia, in a 1-0 victory at home. Pena would continue on to be TFC's leading goal scorer throughout the middle of the season. After a controversial match against Portugal FC on August 24, 2008, Pena was released from his contract the following day. The match was noted for a brawl involving TFC fans and Portugal FC players and management. Pena's parents were amongst the TFC fans that contributed to the brawl. Pena's mother was noted for instigating the situation by shouting out an ethnic slur to one of the Portugal FC coaches. In respect to Pena and his contribution to TFC Academy's debut season, the CSL awarded him the Rookie of the Year award once the season came to a conclusion.
The following season the Brampton Lions acquired Pena as a free agent. He made his debut on May 31, 2009 against his former club TFC Academy, the match resulted in a 2-2 draw at home. Pena faced limited appearances under Lions head coach Armando Costa, and was subsequently transferred to the North York Astros midway through the season. He made his Astros debut on July 18, 2009 against Trois-Rivières Attak, where he scored his first goal for the Astros and helped the North York side claim their first win of the season.
Soon after Pena would secure himself a position on the first team under head coach Vladimir Klinovsky. Though the Astros did overwhelmingly improve under Klinovsky leadership, it was not enough to secure the final playoff spot. The Astros would end up finishing second last in the National Division, eight points behind the final playoff spot. In 2010, Pena was transferred to Portugal FC, where he was reunited with Carmine Isacco his former head coach during his tenure at York University. He made his debut for the club on May 8, 2010 in a match against his former club TFC Academy.
International career
Pena made his debut for the squad on September 21, 2006 against the United States. He would make his second appearance for the Canucks on September 23 against the United States again.
