Jarek Asiamah-Whiteman (born 28 June 1990 in Brampton) is a Canadian soccer player who currently plays for Portugal FC in the Canadian Soccer League. Playing career Whiteman was signed by the newly expansion franchise TFC Academy for the CSL 2008 season. He made his TFC debut in a 1-0 defeat to the Brampton Lions on June 1, 2008. On June 15, 2008 Whiteman recorded his first goal in a 2-0 stunning victory over the Serbian White Eagles; he scored the winning goal which ended TFC three-game scoring drought. Unfortunately TFC Academy failed to reach the post season and concluded their season finishing second last in the National Division. The following season Whiteman signed with the North York Astros reserve team. On July 6, 2009 he made his full Astros debut in a 2-2 draw versus the St. Catharines Wolves; he contributed by helping the Astros achieve their first point of the 2009 season. Soon after Whiteman secured himself a position on the first team squad plans under head coach Vladimir Klinovsky. He recorded his first Astros goal on August 8, 2009 against the Brampton Lions. Though the Astros did overwhelmingly improve under Klinovsky leadership, it was not enough to secure the final playoff spot. The Astros would end up finishing second last in the National Division, eight points behind the final playoff spot. In 2010, Whiteman was transferred to Portugal FC, where he was reunited with Carmine Isacco his former head coach during his tenure at York University. He made his debut for the club on May 8, 2010 in a match against his former club TFC Academy. International career Whiteman is a member of the Canada U-20 men's national soccer team, he made his debut in Beirut, Lebanon at the tournament "Les Jeux de la Francophonie" in a match against Morocco national football team. He recorded his first goal against Congo in 2-2 draw. Personal life He studies Kinesiology and Health Science at York University in Toronto.
