Kayin Jeffers (born January, 1984 in Oakville, Ontario) is an Canadian soccer player who currently plays for the Italia Shooters in the Canadian Soccer League. Career Youth clubs Jeffers played youth soccer with Toronto Azzurri, with the Azzurri he won the Ontario Cup in five successive seasons from 1998-2002 and claimed two Bronze Medals at the 1999 and 2002 Canadian Championships. In 1999 Jeffers played on the provincial Ontario team that was a silver medalist at Canadian National Provincial Championship. Jeffers received a scholarship to James Madison University in 2003. He received numerous Academic awards during his stint with the Dukes, being named to the Deans List, 2006 National Soccer Coaches Association of America Scholar Athlete, All-East Region Team, CAA Conference Commissioner's Academic Award, and the James Madison Athletic Director Scholar Athlete award. Senior clubs On May 9, 2007 Jeffers signed with the Toronto Lynx, his signing was announced in a press conference announcing the 2007 roster. He made his debut on May 12 in 3-0 defeat between the Chicago Fire Premier. He recorded his first goal on June 24 in 5-0 thrashing over the Indiana Invaders. But the Lynx finished the season with a 6-6-4 record, which placed the team in fourth place in the Great Lakes Division, and only missed a playoff berth by six points. The following year Jeffers signed with Italia Shooters for the 2008 CSL season. He helped the Shooters clinch a playoff berth and win the International Division title. In the playoff run he contributed with a victory over the Brampton Lions in the quarterfinals.But unfortunately the Shooters were defeated by eventual champions Serbian White Eagles in the semi-final match.
