Jamaal camah

Born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on March 26, 1978. Camah grew up in Brooklyn, New York before moving to Salem, Massachusetts.

HIGH SCHOOL: Helped lead Salem High School to the 1994-95 Division 2 State Championship...Played with Scoonie Penn at Salem High School where he averaged 23 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and six steals. Two-time All-State selection at Salem...Named Most Improved Player and Newcomer of the Year...Jamaal Camah is a product of the Boston Amateur Basketball Club AAU program, where he played with Ohio State Buckeye Scoonie Penn, University of Villanova Michael Bradley, and University of Massachusetts Minutemen Monty Mack, Jonathan DePina and Shannon Crooks. Ranked among the top 100 players in the nation.

AT PROVIDENCE: Hard working guard who was one of the starting guards for the Friars...Outstanding athlete who has good knowledge of the Friars' system...Slashing type player who can score from the outside or take the ball to the hoop...Played in all 30 games as a sophomore making nine starts...Averaged 9.6 points and 3.0 rebounds per game while averaging 16.2 minutes per game...Had career high 18 points versus TEXAS-PAN AMERICAN and MIAMI...Had a career high ten rebounds in PC's last second win versus GEORGETOWN...Made first career start versus TEXAS-PAN AMERICAN playing 27 minutes...Selected as PC's Most Improved Player...BIG EAST Tournament: 1-4 FG (.250), two points, two rebounds...NIT: 3-7 FG (.429), 0-2 FT (.000), six points, four rebounds. 1997-98: Sat out as a redshirt freshmen. Made most of off season working to improve all-around game.
At Providence College,Camah was charged with assault in
connection with beating two other students. He was barred from participating on the team for a year by Providence College after a fight that occured on April 10th. Jamaal Camah was found innocent of misdemeanor assault charges stemming from the brawl at Providence College. Camah transferred to the University of New Haven, where he played basketball for the 2001-02 season.

At UNH, Camah averaged 22 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and was a first team all conference performer.
