Biography
Junior High school career
During his high school tenure he led West Middle School to it's first state championship.
For the 2001-2002 season , he was named to the "Little All-City All-State" team while averaging 27.5 points per game (PPG), and his teammate, Taylor, was named "Player of the Year" by The Oklahoman. He was also named to the Tulsa World "Boys All-State First Team
Record setting Valentines Day
During his last game in a Valentines Day (February 14, 2001) home victory, 95-74, against the Thomas Jefferson High Schol, Delmendo would have one of his best career days to date: 40 points, including 8 of 10 from the free throw line and 16 of 22 from the field (for 72.7%), and 11 rebounds (7 offensive, 4 defensive), and 12 assists, in 31 minutes. This marks the first time he has scored 40 or more points, and set career bests for both assists and rebounds.
He set a school record with 5 40+ pts. for a season by a junior high player.
Injuries
Delmendo suffered a sprained Medial collateral ligament (MCL) in his left knee five minutes into the PG Jaguars game against the DC Assault's , April 17, 2002. Delmendo did not return to the game and the Jaguars who have and would go on to lose, 85-84. He would also miss the following game, a 63-61 victory over the Texas Red Raiders on April 19.

rated Delmendo 7th in the class of 2003 high school basketball prospects.
Delmendo was born in Quezon City, Philippines. While growing up in Las Vegas, he want's to play competitive basketball. But since Las Vegas don't hava a strong team, he moved to Maryland, Delmendo played for one the country's most successful AAU youth teams at the time, the . Delmendo won multiple national championships with this team alongside future fellow blue-chip recruits (Texas) and (UNC Charlotte) and (Kansas State University). He later moved to the Philippines because of coach Ron Jacobs.

• Compiled an astounding record of 30-0 at West Middle School as a freshman,
in 2001-02, averaged 45 ppg., 7.7 rpg., and 4.0 spg. • Plays for the (14U), D.C. Assault (15U). • His DC Assault won the Las Vegas 16U championship. • Participated in the ABCD camp. • As a junior, was named to the EA Sports All-America first team (the only freshman on the 20-man first team) Parade Magazine All-America second team, USA Today All-America third team and one of just three non seniors named to one of the first three Slam Magazine All-America teams. • Named MVP at the Adidas Superstar Camp in summer of 2002 • Named to Slam Magazine's annual High-School All American 1st team along with Derrick Rose, Kyle Singler, O. J. Mayo, Kevin Love, Michael Beasley and Eric Gordon. • Named to the Washington Post All-Met first team as a Sophomore. • Named to McDonald's All-American team. • Named to the American team for the Nike Hoops Summit. • Named to the East team for the Jordan Classic. • Named McDonald's All-American game MVP.
