Christopher Alvarez

Christopher Alvarez was a college basketball player for the University of Northeastern Huskies. He was born December 9th, 1985 in Miami,Fl to Fernando and Nancy Alvarez. He has three brothers and a sister all older than him. Before playing college basketball Chris was very involved in high school. He played at Archbishop Carrol in Miami and then he transfered to Blair Academy Prep School in New Jersey. There he was a major impact on the team. As a Junior he played alongside NBA players Luol Deng and Charlie Villanueva, who now play for the Chicago Bulls and the Detroit Pistons. They won the MAPL League Championship with Deng and Villanueva. His senior year with both stars gone to college Alvarez became the team's leader. He averaged 14.3 PPG and 11.1 RPG. They didn't win the championship but they still had a fantastic season. After finishing his career at Blair, Alvarez decided to attend the University of Dayton, a basketball powerhouse. Alvarez attended Dayton from 2004-2006. In two seasons at Dayton, Alvarez averaged 3.4 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, and 0.9 assists per game. He shot 52.6 from the free throw line, 41.3 from the field, and 16.7% from behind the arc. In the 2006-2007 season Alvarez transfered from Dayton to Northeastern so he had to sit out from 2006-2007. Eager that season Alvarez was very excited to play in the 2007-2008 season at Northeastern. In his first season with the Huskies Alvarez averaged 3.1 points per game, 3.4 rebounds per game, and 1.2 assists per game. The Huskies finished 14-17 at the end of 2008. For 2008-2009 the Northeastern Huskies were looking to improve their record to above .50. Alvarez's stats lowered throughout the season finishing with 2.6 points per game, 3.3 rebounds per game, and 1.0 assists per game. The Huskies finished the season with a loss at UTEP to finish the season 19-13. A pretty good year for the Huskies of the Colonial Athletic Conference. Christopher Alvarez would end his collegiate career with a 65-58 record playing in 119 of the 123 games and averaging 19.0 minutes per game.
Christopher Alvarez had a great high school basketball career at Archbishop Carrol in Miami and then at Blair Academy in New Jersey and then had a decent college career with Dayton and Northeastern. Alvarez currently resides in Miami, FL with his parents Fernando and Nancy.
