Housing Market Report is a news service (or newsletter) produced in Silver Spring, MD by CD Publications. It covers national and regional housing markets. History The first newsletter produced by CD Publications was Housing Affairs Letter in 1961. Housing Market Report was added in 1976. The company acquired Inside Housing from Housing Ink, also of Silver Spring, in mid 2001 and merged it into Housing Market Report, the report which also gained the readership of Construction News when that title was bought from Evans Publishing of Portland, Oregon, in December 2004. Current Coverage HMR reports housing data on mortgage rates, housing permits/starts, and new/existing home sales. The monthly "Housing Outlook Panel" consists of industry analysts who forecast the next two years' of housing activity, mortgage rates, housing starts, interest rates and other indicators. Expansion In 2007, HMR was changed to a web-based format and, along with CD Publications' other housing news services, was moved onto the web portal HousingandDevelopment.com.
