Chandran Media

Founded in the summer of 2006 and originally launched as a television production house, Chandran Media, is a Calgary, Alberta based company that has since branched into interactive developments and marketing strategies as well as having recently become an investment capital group for new media concepts.Neil Chandran, CEO and ,founder of the company dabbled in the media industry early in 2001 but experienced difficulty when a business partnership went sour. This deal found Neil in a battle with the State of California’s Securities Commission when a claim was made about his financial activity. Although the issue was never clearly resolved and didn’t go to court, the department still disallowed some transactions that were made without proper permitting even though the submitted claim was fraudulent and unsigned. As a result, Neil Chandran were asked to no longer sell shares in California until the matter is amended. Still in a legal stand-off, Neil continued to pursue his goals elsewhere and in 2006 from his hometown of Calgary, Alberta went on his own to start Chandran Media and the news-magazine program “Energy TV”. Energy TV, originally produced in a 400 sq. ft. apartment in Calgary with a team of six employees became an unbiased source for education on Alberta’s local oil and gas sector. Although the market was experiencing all time highs in production and development, it lacked a voice connecting it to the citizens of the province, a gap filled by Energy TV. A year and a half later with more than 90 employees and six new office locations, Energy TV broke out of the regional market with two spins-offs named Energy TV Canada and Energy TV Investment Edition, both airing weekly across Canada on the Global Television network. Chandran Media then took the concept in to the local real estate market when Calgary experienced its boom in 2007. Hence, Real Investments TV was born into a regional broadcast on the CITY TV network in Alberta, Ontario and Saskatchewan, provinces that were also expanding rapidly. Chandran Media had seemingly found its niche with sector specific news-magazine programming and in 2007 created its first show in High-Definition; Mining Industry TV from its west coast head-quarters in Vancouver, British Columbia. To do so, Chandran Media acquired Emmy Award winning cinematographer Kevin Martells who brought an elevated visual presence to the regional broadcast, helping it become a leader in North American mining information. Continuing to grow, Chandran Media established its central-Canadian office in Toronto and embarked on another national half hour show called CEO TV. The program follows advice and tricks of the trade from some business men and women. CEO TV, based out of Toronto, Ontario now works with major corporations, educational facilities and charities to help Canadian businesses gain recognition through out the world. In 2008 Chandran Media announced its intentions of becoming a provider of Canadian broadcasting content by unveiling a new series and direction in programming geared towards lifestyle and its industries. In three months, from its new Toronto branch, the company rolled out Nitelife TV which covers events from South Beach to Vancouver, the HG (Hospitality Guide) that showcases spas, restaurants, hotels and the likes from around the globe and Inside Fashion, a show dedicated to the world of fashion. Inside Fashion has interviewed celebrities such as Donald Trump, Victoria Beckham and Mandy Moore. Chandran media has now set up an American branch in Las Vegas, Nevada and is currently developing product in that market. Also, the group is developing leading interactive products and technologies.
